Macau used to have a huge problem with traffic disobeying traffic signals. Cameras were installed at every regulated intersection. Ticketing of every single offender followed. In a very short time span, the problem was entirely eliminated. Traffic in Macau is now an amazing sight. According to local police the accident rate is extremely low. In 4 days I walked, rode rickshaws, was chauffeured around, and did not see one single accident.
