China is a labor driven country. Even as the country moves into the 21st century people in the country side still seem to be living in the past. Rural mechanization is in its infancy, at best. Country roads are routinely used to dry out corn and other products, forcing motorized travel into a single lane the length of some villages, this only 70 miles from Beijing.
