Transportation

This was a common sight along various fast motorways.  I suspect that most of these trucks were built to travel along rugged roads carrying heavy loads but at slow speeds.  Now upon entering a divided highway built for speed, its pedal to the metal, and they break.  Near Xian in a 50km stretch there must have been a truck on the side every mile. I saw multiple broken drive shafts, dismantling of transmissions, wheels that had fallen off and engine work being done right on the edge of the divided highway.
